Nottingham is situated in heart of central England (East Midlands Region) and is famous for the character Robin Hood and his legend battling with the Sherriff, and also the love of maid Marion.
The city is not an old city in fact one of the youngest it has Nottingham Castle, an excellent Museum and Art Gallery, rebuilt many times since the medieval era. Wollaton Hall is an ornate Elizabethan mansion with gardens and a deer park.
With a huge student population, Nottingham is one of the most vibrant cities in the UK. No matter what your taste or budget, there’s something for everyone. Nottingham is ranked as the 6th best city in the UK for students and 48th in the world, according to the QS Best Student Cities.
Nottingham is a great city for families as there is always so much going on, there are some great schools, plenty of parks, easy access to the countryside, and a very good public transport service.
Nottingham was in 2015 named a UNESCO City of Literature, joining Norwich, Edinburgh, Dublin, Krakow, Reykjavik, Heidelberg, Granada, Dunedin, Prague, Iowa City and Melbourne, as one of only a handful in the world. The title reflects Nottingham’s literary heritage, with literary icons like Lord Bryron, DH Lawrence and Alan Sillitoe having links to the city.
