LATE BREAKS
Autumn in Barcelona brings jazz with the city’s international jazz festival.
For 48 years Barcelona has played host to an annual jazz festival. The festival takes place in venues all over town and you will need to buy individual tickets for each event- there is not one ticket that covers the whole event.
The festival – one of Europe’s longest running – takes place in the Autumn with almost daily concerts at venues throughout the city. The jazz starts with a free open-air concert in the Placa de la Catedral, which each year draws thousands of fans from around Spain and Europe.
International jazz stars that take part in the festival.
In total there are over 40 concerts taking place over the festival meaning heading to Barcelona on a city break almost guarantees being able to see some of the world’s best jazz.
Besides the jazz, Barcelona is fast earning a reputation as Spain’s party capital.
Clubs on offer range from the Nitsa, where jungle, techno and breakbeat can be found at the 50-year-old ballroom, to the moody Dietrich, where cabaret and drag shows make way for disco after midnight.
